Anthea Boras, Principal of St. Teresa of Calcutta School, has recently announced that she will be embarking on a new career path starting late this April 2020. She has accepted a position with Franklin Covey implementing and supporting the renowned Leader in Me Program, which brings the leadership and social-emotional skills espoused in Stephen Covey’s book, “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People,” to students of all ages.

“As a school leader, two things that I’ve always been really passionate about are building positive school cultures and empowering students,” says Boras. “Having used the Leader in Me Program at both École St. Mary and St. Teresa of Calcutta schools, I’ve seen firsthand how this program has helped my students in terms of developing life skills and strong habits.  I’m really excited about the new challenge this position offers and I’m so looking forward to working in the education system from a totally different perspective, helping schools and students across western Canada.”

Superintendent Ken Sampson notes that, while he’s very happy for Mrs. Boras’ success, he is certainly aware that her presence will be missed by many in the division. “Anthea is a compassionate and collaborative leader.  Her positivity and insights are greatly appreciated by her colleagues and she has a way of bringing out the best in those around her.  To be honest, saying that she will be greatly missed feels like a bit of an understatement.”

Anthea, too, expresses that her departure is bittersweet.  “I’ve had so many positive experiences in Holy Spirit and worked with some really incredible people. I know that I’m really going to miss the amazing, student-centred team I have around me at St. Teresa and all of my students and their families.  My career so far has been a real blessing.”

Please join the Holy Spirit Catholic School Division community in congratulating Mrs. Anthea Boras as she sets forth on her new career.
