Dual Credit

Holy Spirit School Division and Olds College have teamed up to offer dual credit opportunities. The innovative program allows students to earn up to 3 College credits and 5 High School Credits.  


What courses are offered?

Fall Semester (Sept - Dec)

MARKETING FOR HOSPITALITY & TOURISM

INTRO TO VETERINARY PROFESSION


Winter/Spring Semester (Feb - May)

VETERINARY PRACTICE: THE TEAM CONNECTION

SOLVING TECHNOLOGY PROBLEMS

APPLIED ECOLOGY

PRODUCING HORTICULTURE CROPS

Note: Courses may change from semester to semester and or year to year.


Where will the courses be taught? What time will the courses occur?

These courses are delivered completely online and are asynchronous. Student schedules can be flexible in taking these courses and fit them into the blocks that work best for their high school schedule. There may be a small number of synchronous classes assigned to best support students i.e. first class orientation, midterm check in.


Who will teach the courses?

An Old's College contract instructor will teach the course and will be assigned at the time the course is determined to meet the minimum enrollment number.


Who can apply for these dual credit courses (Grade level)?

Students in Grade 10 to 12 can apply. Holy Spirit School district will look at the appropriateness of the course for a student.
